Seattle: Gunshots in Belltown
Posted by J.S. Lewis in Uncategorized on September 19th, 2009

Shots rang out on 1st Avenue and Bell tonight in Belltown, Seattle at approximately 9:45 P.M. Several police cars rushed to the scene and were able to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was apparently kicked out of a bar, and he did not take it very well. After firing several shots into the air, he began to run away. I was within a few blocks of the gunshots, the suspect fired several successively, then hesitated for a few seconds before firing the last round.
Here are a few eye witness accounts via twitter:

Dissonance
Posted by J.S. Lewis in Uncategorized on September 18th, 2009
So my friend and I have been developing a new internet tv show, or as I like to call it, an iTV series. I finally came up with a name after just calling it, “Untitled Lewis Pictures Internet TV Series 2010″, Dissonance (as the story takes place after a major universal catastrophe) My co-creator, Andrew Nelson, and I have been working on the pilot script which will run about 30 or so minutes in length. So far we have been diving deeply into the back store which will be revealed throughout the course of the show. Once we finish the first script, we’re going to hand it over to our concept artist, Jeremy Owen. You can see some of his work here, http://thejstandsforawesome.blogspot.com. Both my co-creator and I are going to be heading to Western Washington University in Fall of 2010, so we’re not too sure how long the series will last. We’re considering continuing it after college, so roughly 2012.
Sincerely,
Jack L.
iPhone App Development

A few days ago I entered the second stage of making apps for the iPhone and iPod touch. I’m starting to get a handle on Objective-C, which has proven to be much easier to learn than Actionscript. The current book I’m studying is called, iPhone SDK Application Development. I would say that the hardest part about learning how to make apps is that the books are so poorly written, and make it so much more confusing than it really is. I’m hoping before I leave for Sequim, I will have successfully written a simple application.

Seattle - As boring as I think it is?
Posted by J.S. Lewis in Uncategorized on September 7th, 2009
So for the last two weeks, I’ve been living in Seattle with my brother. It’s been a great experience to know what it’s like to live in the city. The thing is though, it’s nothing like what all my friends say that it would be. Their view seemed to be rather radical and bizarre, as if the city was so far different from the country that you can’t draw any parallels. Well, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration. What I found in Seattle, was a quality of life that you cannot get in the country. All of the small things are better here. That’s about it, I could see myself being just as bored here as I am in the small country town of Sequim. In fact, yesterday I was just as bored if not more than normal while staring out the window into the beautiful cityscape. Crazy right? Don’t get me wrong, I really want to move to Seattle as soon as I graduate from college, but I don’t get what all the hype is about.

I wanted to experiment with a style called “Film Noir” which is A movie characterized by low-key lighting. So I applied this to photos and this is what I got:
