Yesterdays Checkmark

Yesterday, I drove to Port Townsend (PT) to take my drivers test. The reason I wanted to take it there was because five people, on five different occasions, told me that they always fail you the first time in Port Angeles. When we began our short trek to PT, I was extremely nervous. Even though I have been driving for two years now, it didn’t help calm my nerves. Soon my dad and I arrived at the Department of Licensing. More freaked out then ever, I was happy to find that my MP3 player was left in the car. I then quickly turned on some calming music (this particular song to be precise: Far away by Libera). I always found it to have calming effects.

Soon the test giver came out and checked if I knew my hand signals, brake lights, and how quickly I could stop. Then we drove around on a few country roads (in Port Angeles it would have been all hectic city driving). When we got back the the place from whence we started, I was very happy to find out that I passed.

After a half hour wait for the other person to take their driving test, I received my license. I’m a free man now, capable of coming and going as I please. This accomplishment completes step one of the three step process.

  1. Get a License
  2. Get a Job
  3. get a House

Today or Monday, I will be sending in my application to Home Depot, and hopefully get a job. If they accept me, it could be a only a week after that when I move into my house.

Yours,
Jack

Old Footage - Online!

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to drop a line and tell you that the “I am Jedi” trailer is online and viewable at this link: “I am Jedi Teaser trailer”. Hope you enjoy even though the red planet didn’t work out as well as I had hoped.

Old Footage

Today I was looking at some cool music videos on You Tube and thought, “Maybe I should upload my I am Jedi trailer.” I already posted the trailer on blip.tv, but hardly anyone goes there so I thought I would put it on You Tube. Before I do, there is a certain part of the trailer with a shot of the moon in it, and it just drives me crazy, because its so bland and boring. Since I made this trailer I have learned a great deal about making planets. So I am first going to put I an awesome planet in the background, then upload it.

Yours,
Jack

Mondays Mondays

I know, it’s not really Monday, but Tuesday has been my Monday for the last three weeks. My English class at the college is three days a week which means four-day weekends. This is really great, but not so much for a procrastinator such as my self. It’s so very easy to just put things off till the next day, and when you have four days to put things off, things never get done.

I haven’t really progressed very much towards my goals over these days. Yesterday I was supposed to start writing a cover letter, but ended up just reading about how to write one, which I had to do anyway. No one really writes a cover letter for an entry level job, but if someone does, it really adds to the possibility that you will get that job. I’m planning on writing this letter tonight when I get home from college.

Yesterday I started back at SARC (Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center) basically it’s a Gym, Pool, and work out center. I went in at the perfect time, 7:45. Basically, no one is there which is great. The problem when you go in during there busy hours is that you have to get of the treadmill after 30min, but if you go in the later hours, you don’t have to get off the machine. Which is great because I work out for an hour every day.

Yours,
Lewis

3 Goals

So for the last four days, I have been studying my drivers manual for the test today, and all of that studying has paid off. I got 20/20 on the exam today. Now what separates me from having a license is one final test, the driving exam. Yeah, yeah, I know, I’m 18 I should have my license by now, but until now there really hasn’t been a need for one. Once I get a license I will be able to get a job, then move out, then go to college, then go to Western Washington University, and then graduate, and then get another job…

So the list goes on, but there are really only three goals, and they are as follows:

  1. Get a License
  2. Get a Job
  3. Get a House

Right now I’m half way to getting my license, and I’m going to start sending in applications for jobs everywhere. It seems that it takes about 2-3 weeks for your application to go through, so this really works out.

Yours,
Jack
